Issued has his first posthumous project, ‘Life After Death’ was released on March 25th 1997; just 16 days after Biggie’s murder on March 9th. The album topped the Billboard 200 for 4 weeks from April 12th until May 9th of that year and was eventually certified diamond in the US by the RIAA.
‘Life After Death’ produced 2 chart-topping singles on the Billboard Hot 100 - ‘Mo Money Mo Problems (Ft. Mase & Puff Daddy)’ as well as ‘Hypnotize’. The latter tune was Biggie’s first #1 song on the lineup and the fifth track by a credited dead lead artist to top the ranking.
