As proven by her shaky performance on ‘Let’s Dance For Sport Relief’, Katy Perry has serious problems singing live. Yet, the superstar sounds fantastic on her records, such as on this new song entitled ‘Wide Awake’.
The radio-friendly ‘Wide Awake’ will be included on Perry’s upcoming ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection’ rerelease, which will hit stores on March 26th. Also featured on the special edition LP is the lead single, ‘Part of Me’. Perry has already filmed a video for that tune and the visual will debut on March 21st as indicated by the issued trailer.
Listen to Perry’s ‘Wide Awake’ below:
Perry has once again crafted a solid record that could easily be a hit on Top 40/Mainstream radio as a followup to ‘Part of Me’. ‘Wide Awake’ is a great Pop song and its departure from the Dance-styled tracks of Perry’s peers is most welcomed. She sounds painful when she performs but Perry certainly knows how to make a hit.
