Melanie Fiona has exceeded expectations by cracking the top 10 of the Billboard 200 with her ‘The MF Life’. album. However, despite landing among this week’s top-selling albums in the US, there is no denying that she has suffered a disappointment.
‘The MF Life’ has debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200 with only 34K copies sold. The LP was supported by the singles ‘Gone & Never Coming Back’ and ’4 AM’, which peaked at #37 and #8 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, respectively.
Strangely, the sales of ‘The MF Life’ represent an increase for Fiona and she technically has not fallen victim to the sophomore slump. Indeed, her debut album, ‘The Bridge’, entered at a lowly #128 with a 4K copies sold in November 2009.
