British Soul singer Adele.

The 2012 Billboard Music Awards nominees have been announced and Adele has dominated her competition. In fact, the British blockbuster seller has garnered a stunning 18 nominations for the show and overshadowed everybody from Rihanna to Lady Gaga.

Among her many nominations, Adele has claimed nods for Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist. Other acts who nabbed top honors included LMFAO (17 nominations), Rihanna (13 nominations), Lil Wayne (10 nominations) and Lady Gaga (10 nominations). The winners of the show will be decided based on their performance during the March 1st 2011 to February 29th 2012 period.

Entertainers expected to perform at the Billboard Music Awards this year are Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, The Wanted and LMFAO. Additional acts will be added to the performance roster ahead of the May 20th air date of the show, which will be held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
