Chris Brown’s fans will have to wait a bit longer for the release of his highly anticipated ‘Fortune’ album as its release has been delayed until July. That’s right folks, the record has been pushed back by almost a full two months.
Instead of arriving on May 8th as previously projected, ‘Fortune’ will hit stores on July 3rd. The record is preceded by the promotional tune ‘Strip (Ft. Kevin McCall)’ as well as the official singles ‘Turn Up the Music’, ‘Sweet Love’ and ‘Till I Die (Ft. Wiz Khalifa & Big Sean)’.
To date, the highest-charting song from ‘Fortune’ has been ‘Turn Up the Music’. The song peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, following Brown’s performance of the track at the 2012 Grammy Awards and the release of its controversial remix, which featured Rihanna.

Obviously, the delay of ‘Fortune’ will disappoint his fans but Brown will certainly benefit from possible additional promotional opportunities – the Billboard Music Awards and the BET Awards – available in the waiting period for the album’s release. Of course, Brown will need a high-charting single similar to ‘Look At Me Now (Ft. Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne)’ to help boost his chances of scoring a hit album.
Do you think it was a wise decision to push back ‘Fortune’ or has Brown’s team made a mistake? Leave you ropinion in the comment section below!

This is a good thing! He needs more time to do promotion and i disagree with you trent about him needing a high charting single to have a successful album, beyonce had a successful album without any high charting singles. He simply needs to make a good album and promote property.
Good decision, it’ll give him time for more promotion because right now it is lacking.
Maybe they can change some songs all the songs he has released really did not do it for me .
Good… what ever it takes… more promotional time… it would be nice if scale back on those collabo… so he doesn’t become over saturated. Just a thought. :0
i was ready for May 8th tho, ugh. But yeah its a good decision especially w/ the Billboard Music Awards and BET Awards there
hmm, it depends whether he has a strong enough follow up single in the international markets. If not then he should just release it in may, everywhere. He’s still gonna have the Bet awards to boost its sales and promote the album further. People going on like 1st week sales are the only sales that count. He had enough time to promote it in the next 2 weeks. He should do AOL session or just any accoustic set and put it on youtube, cover a big song i.e”goyte”…. PROMOTION!
