Mariah Carey Soars At ‘Top Of The Mountain’ In Austria

Mariah Carey performs at the 'Top of the Mountain' concert in Austria.

Mariah Carey hasn’t been at the top of the charts for quite some time but she found her way to a different type of summit earlier today in Austria. The head diva hit the stage at the Top of the Mountain concert in Ischgl and wowed her fans with a mix of her famous hits.

Among the songs performed by Carey were ‘Shake it Off’ and ‘Without You’. As usual, her wardrobe was just as interesting as her singing because she changed ensembles multiple times during the show. Watch Carey in action at ‘Top of the Mountain’ below:

There is trickery afoot. Although it seemed as though Carey was singing mostly live, her trusty backtrack was clearly used to bolster the chorus of ‘Without You’. However, that was understandable because of the altitude of the show and the blistering cold. Let’s hope Carey doesn’t make it a habit at all of her upcoming shows.

  Mariah hasn’t sung the chorus to “Without You” truly live since 1996. I highly doubt she’ll start doing it now. Still love her though!

  So it’s “understandable” when Mariah lip syncs? And she really needs to STOP performing “Shake You Off.” Her performances of that song are always blah.

  “Shake It Off” is a monotone song anyway. Most of her fans don’t really care for her to perform it. Bur it’s one of her current hits so thats why she does. She changed it around, so you know she figured it was kinda boring in itself. She sung live alot throughout both songs, at other points she’s singing to the backtrack.

  It’s very understandable for MC to lip at times. I mean, it’s nearly impossible for any singer to sing those parts live! She can still hit those notes, but just not in the same breath. I saw Leona earlier this month and she lipped.

  Mariah will never over-exert her voice again like she did in the 90s. Had she not toured every year and performed on every show named to man she wouldn’t have lost quality to her voice so quickly in the first 15 years of her career. She knows how to maintain and preserve her voice these days.
  
  That being said, she looks amazing, sounds amazing and is commanding the stage like she never has before. Mariah will slay this year. Your fav would never perform in 20 degree weather and tear it up like that! She performed all the good stuff too! Can’t wait to hear “Underneath The Stars.” Her ad-libs were killer in this concert. These 2 clips do not really showcase much so I hope a clip WITHOUT FAN SINGING surfaces….and Trent why would you pick that photo?? There were so many stunning shots available on mariahdaily.com

  I thought she delivered on both tracks..especially on “Without You”… & I think those backup tracks are the back-up singers and the person holding the camera singing along lol But her belting on SIO did look a little lipped…IDK something seems off about Mariah emotionally…In the photos too…she looks depressed or sad..Love you, Mariah!!
