Did you know that The Supremes, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and Katy Perry all share a Billboard Hot 100 record?
The Supremes, Jackson, Carey and Perry are tied in third place among artists with the most consecutive #1 hits on the Hot 100 with 5 chart-toppers each. Perry matched the accomplishments of the legendary performers when ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’ topped the listing in 2011 as the fifth #1 single from her ‘Teenage Dream’ album.
Notably, Carey is the only artist to achieve that feat twice when she landed 5 #1 singles on the Hot 100 during the 1990-1991 and 1995-1998 periods. However, Whitney Houston still holds the record for the most consecutive chart-toppers as she scored a remarkable 7 #1 songs from 1985 to 1988.
