It’s official: Usher has returned to the Dance/Pop music movement. The singer, who was lauded for reviving the R&B movement with ‘Climax’, has released a new single, ‘Scream’, which is laced with auto-tune, synths and a catchy club-ready hook.
Usher’s new album, ‘Looking for Myself’, will hit stores on June 12th. The record will also entail his next Urban radio single, ‘Let Me See (Ft. Rick Ross)’, which will impact radio during the coming days.
Listen to Usher’s ‘Scream’ below:
Usher really disappointed many of his R&B fans with ‘Scream’. Although it is a solid Dance/Pop record, it definitely dose not showcase the Revolutionary Pop sound that he promised and it ruined the momentum for an R&B revival sparked by ‘Climax’.
Perhaps Usher is attempting to target all markets with ‘Looking for Myself’ but these various sounds might confuse his audience. Also, after crafting the foundation of what could have be a new subgenre alongside Diplo with ‘Climax’, the trendy ‘Scream’ is a major disappointment.
