As Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ album continued to fall further down the Billboard 200 this week, the Pop star has release the video for the project’s lead single, ‘Starships’. Yet, does this clip have the appeal to boost her record sales?
Thus far, ‘Roman Reloaded’ has sold 382K copies in the US and dipped to #6 on this week’s Billboard 200 ranking. Even ‘Starships’ has lost steam as it tumbled to #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week after previously peaking at #5 o the chart. Watch the video for the tune below:
Basically, Minaj completed her transformation into Ke$ha with this ‘Starships’ video. She even had the paint and the neon lighting of the latter’s ‘Take it Off’ production. Unfortunately, though, the visual just didn’t work.
How did this ‘Starships’ visual match the song? Did it relate to the ‘lyrics’ or even represent the theme of therecord? Maybe I missed something or was simply confused by all of the half naked people in the video but this clip seemed like nothing more than 3 minutes of colourful breasts, legs and thighs.
