Nicki Minaj’s attention-seeking antics on Twitter have done nothing to boost her dismal album sales. In fact, ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ LP has continued its decline on the Billboard 200 and is even being outsold by Adele’s ’21′, which has been in the top 10 for 61 weeks.
‘Roman Reloaded’ has sold a meager 48K copies in its third week and fell another 3 spots to #6 on the chart. The record has only sold 382K copies in the US since April 3rd; barely 7K units more than the 375K sold by its predecessor, ‘Pink Friday’, in its opening week in November 2010.
Additionally, the lead single from ‘Roman Reloaded’, ‘Starships’, has also continued to tumble down the Billboard Hot 100. The track has dipped to #9 on the lineup after previously peaking at #5. However, ‘Starships’ is expected to climb back up the charts after its accompanying video debuts on April 26th via MTV.
By the way, Adele’s ’21′ sold 90K copies this week and ranked at #3 on the Billboard 200. With 61 weeks in the top 10, the LP has sold over 8.82 million since being released in the US in February 2011. Also, it is the only album to sell more than 3 million copies in since January 1st.
