Who needs good album sales when you have an extensive list of endorsement deals? That mantra perfectly applies to Jennifer Lopez and helped the new Epic Records signee to top the Forbes Celebrity 100 list for the first time in her career.
Besting Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga and even Justin Bieber, Lopez has been crowned as the most powerful celebrity in the US with earnings exceeding $52 million during the last twelve months (May 1st 2011 to May 1st 2012). The entertainer nabbed the honor thanks to the massive media visibility she garnered via endorsements deals with Fiat, L’Oreal and Gillette, as well as her Khol’s clothing line and her judging role on ‘American Idol’.
Last year’s most powerful star, Gaga, dipped to fifth position on the Celebrity 100 list with $52 million personal earnings whereas Rihanna has vaulted into the top five at #4 with $53 million. Additionally, Beyonce slipped to #16 on the lineup with only $40 million.
