New Song: J. Holiday – ‘Sign My Name’

Written by TriniTrent | Filed under J. Holiday
J Holiday Sign My Name TheLavaLizard

    J. Holiday's 'Sign My Name' single cover.

Move over Trey Songz and Chris Brown because J. Holiday is back with overtly sexual R&B and he can actually sing without auto-tune. ‘Sign My Name’ is the crooner’s new single from an upcoming new project, which will be released later this year.

Literally singing about the skills of his penis, Holiday glides though his range as he graphically boasts about his sexual prowess. Listen to the song below but make sure your mother isn’t in the room when you click play:

I am honestly beginning to think that male R&B singers don’t want themselves to be great. Really, does Holiday honestly expect ‘Sign My Name’ to get radio airplay? This is just a blatant waste of a single; it would be a good album track but nothing more. What a misuse of time and talent.

    Thanks Rap-Up!

Yes this could get airplay, it’s very similar to a Trey Songz track.

I think this can get airplay…

      I love the song !!

I think I listened to about 15 seconds and put it on pause. I’m tired of artists releasing music that sounds exactly like their peers. What’s the point of releasing music if you’re not going to stand out in a positive way? I’m over it.

I think what Trent is basically saying is that the song is not even goin to scratch the top 40 (You know where the coins are)

    • DOMOdotSCORE

It really does sound like a Trey Songz’ track. J’s best song will always be Suffocate, he needs tracks like that.

You do remember his first release was “Put you to bed”? Shouldn’t be that surprised that he is being overtly sexual. This type of RnB has been around forever ( r Kelly, jodeci, etc.). This song will be in the more “urban” strip clubs here in Vegas though….guaranteed and yes, I agree it won’t get Top 40 AirPlay.

This is actually a great song. Not a great single like Trent mentioned, but this is definitely an excellent track 5 or 10 on an album. But J. Holiday has put himself into this box of generic R&B so I don’t know why anyone is surprised. He is just very misguided. He needs to come up with something a little more fresh sounding and that will leave an impact on the listener. People are trying to knock Breezy for his “dance” singles but after hearing Don’t Wake Me Up I feel good! This song by Holiday makes you feel good but is not that memorable. Overall I would give it 3/5 stars. I’m just glad to hear R&B music still coming strong. While this sound may be a little outdated nobody gets tired of baby-making music lol

I have JHoliday first two albums def rnb classics. I love this song. But I agree w Trent if Holiday wants new fans he needs a radio smash.

First he went well with bed, its yours, suffocate, fall and homeless but now sign my name doesnt sound original like him, it doesnt show his potential its like hes put a limit to his good voice which people( fans) like, he holds a rosary on the single’s cover and the single’s lyrics are too erotic, what is this?..hed better use his asstes( the voice, and gud songwriting skills)
