Justin Bieber stated that he imitated Hip-Hop culture for his new single, ‘Boyfriend’, but did he do the same thing for its accompanying video? Well, the X-directed visual has premiered so we are about to get our answer.
‘Boyfriend’ is the lead single from Bieber’s ‘Believe’ album, which will hit store on June 19th. The original version the the video was oversen director Colin Tilley but it was inexplicably reworked by X for the final cut. Watch the visual below:
Basically, Bieber has recreated ‘N Sync’s ‘Girlfriend’ video and even had similar cars. The only difference between Boyfriend’ and that production is that he can’t dance or sing and he hasn’t started puberty. Cue the crowd of screaming pre-teens praising him as the next Michael Jackson.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! SEND HIS ASS BACK TO CANADA PUH-LEASE!!! #OVERIT
That gif
This just makes me appreciate justin timberlake and other teen pop artists when i was younger so much more
That song is so 2002. How do they dare to put a bouncing car! Poor car. Them other bouncin cars will make fun of him.
The first 30 seconds were the best part, he should have stuck with the original.
LMAOOOO lookin like they pulled a britney – cut-to-lots-of-different-clips-in-fast-succession-and-surround-with-backing-dancers-to-give-the-illusion-they-can-dance- special with this one!!! oh lawd i cant
meh.
Dead @ this video and @ that GIF! really trent?!?! matilda! girl’s face said it all… o the shade! but this video was really awful.
sorry i dont BELIEVE,that sounded like a damn dog trapped in a cage towards the end….i am upset!
eh I expected more
Justin, don’t have many seats. Have veryyy manyyy seats!
I’m not surpirsed!
*Kanye Shrug*
How unoriginal. This is a mix between N*syncs Girlfriend and JT’s Like I Love You.
Feel free to check out my parody of Boyfriend as well http://youtu.be/LMtOdxpo1GA
…. not to sound fucked up, but the only reason I believe he is getting traction with this is because people are so “smitten with white folks” doing variation of R&B/Soul. I believe Dru Hill and Jagged Edge both released the same track with a different beat and better harmonies and vocals!… -_-
Trash! Most of the musicians of today are talentless.
You know what? White guys might be the ones who bring back R&B music. I don’t know how I feel about that.
This video is ok.
The video is weak. But, I still love the song. I would have loved to see the original cut of the video. Maybe he’ll leak it to his Beiblers…
Lol @ the “them other cars will laugh” comment.
Colin Tiley’s videos suck though, I expected more from X.
I’m guessing Colin Tiley’s original idea (the first 30 sec of this video ) got canned because of the preview reaction. Justin kept releasing small clips of the video and people though 1) it was sexy (too sexy with all the girls grabbing at him) and 2) it was too much like Jesse Mccartney’s video “Shake” (with all the hands grabbing at him). His haircut, style, and even the way he sings the hooks is exactly like Jesse Mccartney ever since Jesse Mccartney got into r&b music in 2008. Single White Female style rip off.
WTF y it look like he was bout to start breakdancing then all of a sudden next scene he gotta guitar no bueno
Monkey testicles….I blame Usher for this…..and this awfulness has rubbed off on Usher…..justin looks like Ellen plain and simple…………
video made song better but he needs to get bigger, build up! he looks like a lesbian foreal!
Was he singing about – him being a boyfriend – or a song about his boyfriend.
