Usher's dark new 'Looking for Myself' promo pic.

The 2012 Billboard Music Awards list of performers has been given a much-needed boost. Indeed, the show was sorely lacking an exciting headliner but Usher, Kelly Clarkson and Nelly Furtado will surely change that.

Usher, Clarkson and Furtado will join the previously announced Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, The Wanted and LMFAO at the Billboard Music Awards, which will air live at 8pm ET on May 20th via ABC. Hosted by Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell, the event will also feature a showing by Cee Lo Green. Additional performers will be announced within the coming weeks.

Leading the pack of nominees for the Billboard Music Awards this year is Adele, who nabbed 18 nods. There is still no word regarding who will receive the special Billboard Millenium Award, which was conveniently created in 2011 during Beyonce’s ’4′ album promotional campaign.
