Did you know that Fergie was not an original member of the Black Eyed Peas?
The Black Eyed Peas released their first two studio albums, ‘Behind the Front’ and ‘Bridging the Gap’, as a trio consisting of will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo. Fergie actually didn’t join the group until 2002 when they were recording their ‘Elephunk’ LP and was initially only intended to do guest vocals instead of becoming a permanent member of the band.
Interestingly, Nicole Scherzinger was rumoured to have been approached to join the Black Eyed Peas but she was already member of the doomed Pop group Eden’s Crush. Watch the video for the first song that Fergie recorded with the Black Eyed Peas, ‘Shut Up’, below:
