Fans of Leona Lewis have been waiting patiently to hear her new material and she finally delivered earlier today. Performing at BBC Radio 1′s Hackney Weekend, the songbird debuted a new song, ‘Come Alive’ in a bid to build buzz for her long-delayed ‘Glassheart’ album.
Back by club-geared Dance music arrangements, ‘Come Alive’ continues the trend set by Lewis’ failed ‘Glassheart’ single, ‘Collide’. Yes, dearly beloved fans of good music, Lewis has followed in the footsteps of Alexandra Burke into Dance territory.
Listen to Lewis’ ‘Come Alive’ below:
Why great singers, such as Lewis and Burke, opt to join the bandwagon is a trend that continues to be baffling and disheartening. Although we haven’t heard the final studio version of ‘Come Alive’, it is clear that the record will be a major club anthem. Yet, as we we observed from Burke’s failed ‘Heartbreak on Hold’ project, this type of music does not sell albums!
Hopefully, ‘Come Alive’ will not be released as Lewis new single. If that s the case then it would be wise for her to ready a double release with an additional ballad. All we can do at this point is hope for the best.
