Ke$ha is ready to launch her return to the music scene so Nicki Minaj needs to hurry if she wishes to corner the former’s market. As such, the former Hip-Hop artist has readied a new single that will position in the running to score the Dance hit of the summer season.
Minaj has selected ‘Pound the Alarm’ as the next single from her ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ album. The track will be released in on July 2nd and it corresponding video will debut in the following two weeks.
Thus far, Minaj’s only top 40 hit in both the US and UK has been ‘Starships’, which peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Official UK Singles Chart. All of her other singles – promotional and official releases – including ‘Right by My Side (Ft. Chris Brown)’, stalled on the lineups. ’Roman Reloaded’ has yet to be certified gold in the US despite being released since April 3rd.

Minaj really doesn’t understand the core reason for the slow sales of ‘Roman Reloaded’ – she is targeting the wrong audience. Dance/Pop music fans rarely buy full albums and singles like ‘Pound the Alarm’ won’t sway then to do anything except fall drunk in the club.
Also, these poor singles choices are why serious Hip-Hop fans refuse to support Minaj’s ‘Roman Reloaded’ project. Really, what are the chances that somebody who enjoyed ‘Moment 4 Life’ would be eager to listen to listen to ‘Pound the Alarm’? Minaj just doesn’t understand.
