Rihanna performed alongside Jay-Z during the first day of the 2012 BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekend festival and she returned today to give her fans a second showing. However, despite the magnificent layout of her Egyptian stage, the Barbadian was far from exciting and somehow inspiring.
Stumbling across the Hackney Weekend stage, Rihanna seemed utterly bored and lazy during renditions of ‘S&M’, ‘Disturbia’ and several of her other hits. Indeed, it looked as though one of the mummies from ancient Egypt had risen from the grave to inflict chaos on the world with her army of off-key notes.

Rihanna has truly changed my life with these performances. Instead feeling upset or angry while watching her onstage, I somehow feel motivated to get in shape, improve my eating habits and enjoy more sleep.
Why am I so inspired by Rihanna? Only when we witness the lowest of lows can we appreciate the better side of life. So, let’s all thank Rihanna for encouraging us to do better and being a constant reminder of why laziness is one of the seven deadly sins.
