Although the sales predictions for Justin Bieber’s ‘Believe’ debut were grossly overshot, the teenage still managed to nab the top slot of the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, on the Billboard Hot 100, Rihanna also clocked impressive figures as she surged into the chart’s top 5.
‘Believe’ sold over 374K copies in its first week and entered the Billboard 200 at #1. The LP has generated the biggest opening numbers of 2012 to date, trumping the 359K copies sold by Madonna’s ‘M.D.N.A’ and earning Bieber the highest first week sales of his career.
Over on the Hot 100, Rihanna’s ‘Where Have You Been’ has launched into the top 5 of the chart at #5. The Barbadian now has 15 top 5 hits to her name, of which 11 capped the ranking. See the leading releases in the top 10 of both Billboard 200 and the Hot 100 below:
