Usher's 'Looking 4 Myself' album cover.

The sales predictions for Usher’s ‘Looking 4 Myself’ have proven to be accurate as the crossover superstar’s album has entered the Billboard 200 at #1 but with meager sales. However, where Usher made waves  - well, ripples – on one chart, Katy Perry did the same on another listing with ‘Wide Awake’.

‘Looking 4 Myself’ opened at the top of the Billboard 200 with sales exceeding 128K copies. Despite earning his fourth consecutive #1 album on the Billboard 200, these figures represent the lowest debut sales of any Usher album since ‘My Way’ in 1997, which cracked the chart at #15 with 66K copies sold

Shameless plug: did you read my review of Usher’s ‘Looking 4 Myself’? If you didn’t then click here to check it out. Hey, you just might be inspired to buy the album, download a few tracks from iTunes or simply help keep a child alive.

Over on the Billboard Hot 100, Perry’s ‘Wide Awake’ has moved to #4 – up 5 spots from last week. The tune has become the Pop star’s eighth consecutive top five single in two years, probably because of the added boost in airplay generated by it’s accompanying video.

See the leading releases in the top 10 of both Billboard 200 and the Hot 100 below:

Capitol, go ahead and buy your #1 for Katy and get it over with so I won’t have to hear it anymore.
