They clearly did bring out the divas for the Whitney tribute – Mariah, Chaka.. I was skeptical of whether BET could pull off a good tribute for Whitney but they did! I was skeptical about the entire “awards” show quite frankly – so I decided to only tune in for the end of the show (the tribute) and watch any decent performances here. The performances were actually great last night! Melanie Fiona!! Wow! Best of the night, imo. I enjoyed Usher’s performance as well as the G.O.O.D. music segment. Chris Brown didn’t lip sync which was quite refreshing. And Nicki’s performance wasn’t bad at all.

Um somebody needs to tell Chris Brown instead of getting into beefs he needs to invest that time in some vocal lessons. He’s cute but that’s about it and that can only take you but so far.

The Whitney Tribute was the highlight of the night. Monica delivered a soulful and emotional performance and Brandy was absolutely fierce and I do mean fierce! Great tribute.

So great to great to see D’Angelo doing his thing again…So many new artist “jacked” his style while he was gone.
