Brandy Changes ‘Two Eleven’ Album Release Date

    Brandy promo TheLavaLizard

Brandy stars in her ‘It All Belongs To Me’ video.

Brandy continued to send her fans on a roller coaster of emotions during the last 24 hours when she followed her stunning debut performance of ‘Put it Down’ at the Howard Theater with some disappointing news. What’s so sad? The singer has delayed her ‘Two Eleven’ album release date until October.

According to Rap-Up, ‘Two Eleven’ will hit stores on October 2nd. That’s right, the release of the album has been delayed from the previously scheduled August 28th arrival date. Additionally, there is still no word regarding the debut of Brandy’s ‘Put it Down’ video debut or if she has planned a followup single for the coming weeks.

    ————————————————————————–

Why, Brandy, why? How is it possible that one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year is being so grossly mishandled? Brandy hasn’t done a single major promotional appearance to support ‘Put it Down’, the video is long overdue and now ‘Two Eleven’ has been delayed. This is absolutely devastating.

    Thoughts?

I KNEW she was gonna do that, ehh i guess everything happens for a reason. Hope she does major promo.

That gives her time to focus on promo. Right now a lot of tv shows are on break and theres not many sources for national promo. So the fall will bring those back plus award shows if she gets the opportunity to perform. I hope her team uses this time the correct way.

    • olly_tei

On a serious note, I think It could be good its delayed. Nowadays unless you have a truly dedicated audience, I don’t think its safe to launch an album without 2 strong releases, Put it down sounds like a 3rd or 4th single.

She should be readying a new single early august and promote it alongside Put it down. Bang out the promotion throughout august; a lot of professionally recorded live performances, not just “put it down”, but a few of her old favourites, mayb an album track which isn’t single material and some carefully selected covers which will reach further then just the RnB blogs. These things don’t have to cost tons of money… there are so many more avenues then 106 and park or good morning america. Look at how the UK artist do it, I ain’t heard of none of the places misha B been recording her performances but they’re still building buzz for her debut.

      *takes deep breath*

And then she should return late september promoting a new single which would be released alongside the album on october 2nd.

I Think it was a smart decision…it gives her time to get the video out and popping, maybe another single and of course more promo

    • Liberiangirl

She needs to get a new team that will handle this a lot better for her. I was so set to get her album in August and this slow promotion schedule she has been on is just crazy. She is an established artist and her team should do better than this

    • christinastherealtalent

This happened because her damn label has a bad habit of releasing songs too damn early and not releasing the video until its too late to revitalized the tarnished song. This is a hot song but it lost its hype very fast because the video hasn’t even been released and she hasnt even promoted the damn thing. As much as i dont want it to, I have a feeling Two Eleven is going to flop. Even with a vidro for the song at this point, the song won’t go nowhere. Chris doesn’t have a good reputation right now so as long as his name is attached to a song, nobodys going to care about it.

    • Kendall

I knew this would happen. Brandy did an interview recently & was asked about the date & she looked completely uncertain & kept saying ‘hopefully’. Its really disappointing that labels have the power to eff up good momentum and for those who know nothing about the industry, it looks like its the artist’s fault. The song got no promotion and the video took way too long to even be filmed. Brandy has one more chance.. Lets hope its flawlessly executed.

    • larry

THAT GIFFFFF!!! AHHAAHAHAH i felt the pain too!

    • Theman

      Same shyttttttt. She follows u u should’ve tweeted this…………

    • Tristan

This can be looked at as a good thing. It gives her more time to do some televised marketing for the single and release another single before the release of the album. I think October works perfectly. August was too soon considering the fact the videofor ‘Put It Down’ hasn’t even released and she hasn’t began her big promotional campaign.

    • Ugh

      why? “””(

    • Kingphoenix

I don’t mind if she has a later release date so as long as she takes this time to capitalize on her momentum and what not. She needs to plan stuff more thoughtful, and start making the right decisions about her career. I mean she could have released an ep or something if she felt that coming back into the game was going to be difficult with her label heads and stuff. Shit right now she ain’t even above a mixtape tbh. And if things don’t work out with her album, maybe she should consider going independent. Her music may not make as much as an impact, and she may never gain the same level of exposure. But as long as she is making quality music and good money, why not go the independent route.

    • IKnowMYShit

SMART MOVE! “The Game” Films All Of August So There Is No Way For Her To Film That And Promote The Right Way

& She Is Releasing To More Singles Before The Album Drops
“Sick” & “Without You” She Needs To Please The “Fans” Who Can’t “Put It Down” haha The Ones Who Wanna Sit And Steal Her Runs And Shit From A Ballad & Mid So Its A SMART Ass Move And She Pushed It Back NOT The LABEL

    • Pisces2g

Ok so why not release it in the summer shit she gonna have to compete with the heavy weights come fall, even tho Brandy is a heavy weight herself she is not being takin seriously by her label obviously because everything always seems up in the air with her, as a legend Brandy what’s the deal? Make a tumblr post or some shit explaining what we can look forward to, put it down was solid, and a surprise and we just now getting a live performance of that! GIRL! *takes asthma pump* still love u B lol

tears are falling…i guess i’ll have to wait…but i think i gives her time to get situated

      No one cares!

@Mosha, not only did you read the article but you even commented on it. If that ain’t caring…

As much as I’m disappointed I trust Bran and her team. I’m sure the push will make sense at the end. As long as its released this year though

    • DeL_Cappella

@Mosha thats not what your favorite artist said

    • TEAM QB

ughhh this is horrible….put it down had potential to chart !!!! hopefully the next single is better

    • The Truth

SHE probably didn’t delay it. Her label probably did. They either want a hit song or enough music out that will hopefully make people want to BUY the album and not just download it for free.

I really like “Put It Down” I wish it was doing better on the charts.

I feel bad for Brandy because this is just like the Full Moon album but worst. Seriously, I know she is trying to make a comeback but the songs that just came out are not that strong. The Chris Brown song is weak and the first song with Monica involved too much hype. By the time this comes out nobody will really care, and I have yet to hear the Chris Brown song on the radio. Her voice sounds so auto tuned and for me it does not sound smooth. The label is screwing her over, and at this point she in and Monica have had their time and they need to become judges on reality shows. I mean they have had their time.
