Marsha Ambrosius just announced the title of her upcoming ‘Friends & Lovers’ album earlier this week and she has already started sharing material from the record. In fact, the first new song that the witty singer-songwriter debuted from her upcoming project was the title track.

While performing at the 2012 Essence Music Festival, Ambrosius sang the emotional ‘Friends & Lovers’, which depicted her relationship with an unfaithful companion, yet she didn’t fully explain the tune. As she playfully stated following her performance, the conclusion of the story can only be heard if you purchase her album!

There is no question that Ambrosius is a great singer but the message often gets shrouded by her overuse of vibrato. Still, the anticipation for her ‘Friends & Lovers’ LP is high and all we can hope is that it is more exciting that the generally monotonous ‘Late Nights & Early Mornings’.
