Did you know that Nas’ ‘Untitled’ album was originally entitled ‘Nigger’?

Nas originally intended to release his ‘Untitled’ album under the title of ‘Nigger’ but he was reportedly forced to change the name because of increasing pressure from several retailers, who refused to sell the record, as well as the government. However, the change wasn’t made before Nas promoted his album at the 2008 Grammy Awards alongside his wife Kelis with his infamous “nigger” T-shirts.

Notably, ‘Untitled’ is ranked as Nas’ lowest-selling album to date. It has been certified gold by the RIAA and remains his only LP not to achieve platinum status. Watch the video for ‘Hero’, which features Keri Hilson, from the ‘Untitled’ album below:
