Did you know that Gladys Knight nabbed the honor of performing the James Bond theme song in 1989?
Knight recorded the theme song of the 16th Bond movie, ‘Licence to Kill’, in 1989. The track was crafted by Narada Michael Walden, Jeffrey Cohen and Walter Afanasieff, the last of whom later rose to popularity for his work with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion.
Knight’s ‘Licence to Kill’ was a breakthrough hit and it peaked at #6 on the Official UK Singles Chart. Watch the video for the song below:

Narada is an underrated and unappreciated producer/songwriter. Beyonce should have worked with him for “4″. He would have done a better job of her mid-tempos like “I Care” and and the uptempos.
