Did you know that today (July 23rd) is the first anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s untimely death?
Winehouse succumbed to the effects of alcohol poisoning on July 23rd 2011. Her body was found at her her London residence and after months of investigations, it was confirmed that illegal drugs had not played a role in her passing.
Celebrated by both critics and fans, Winehouse enjoyed massive success both during her lifetime and following her death. She amassed a total of six Grammy Awards, five of which she won during the 2008 ceremony, and one BRIT Award.
Winehouse’s breakthrough album was 2006′s ‘Back to Black’. The record has thus far been certified 8x platinum in the UK and 2x platinum in US. Her most successful song from the LP in both the US and the UK was ‘Rehab’, which peaked at #9 and #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Official UK Singles Chart, respectively.
