Emeli Sande performs in her new video, ‘Abide with Me’

Those of you who watched the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics on NBC unknowingly enjoyed the festivities without noticing that one of the key performances was omitted from the US version of the broadcast. Specifically, Emeli Sande’s moving rendition of ‘Abide with Me’ was cut from the show without explanation.

Surrounded by a dozens of dancers, Sande restrained her voice for an emotional performance of ‘Abide with Me’ in dedication to those person who passed away before the launch of the 2012 London Olympics. Thankfully, the songbird filmed a new video for the song at Capital Studios in Los Angeles as part of VEVO’s ’1 Mic 1 Take’ series.
