Frank Ocean’s ‘channel ORANGE’ debut at #2 on the Billboard 200 on the strength of digital sales alone and many predicted that when the record was made available in physical form that it would maintain its chart lead. However, Nas ended all hopes of that occurrence as his ‘Life is Good’ set has nabbed to top slot with a considerable lead.
Nas’ ‘Life is Good’ debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 149K copies sold, thus becoming his sixth chart-topping LP. Among Hip-Hop artists with the most #1 sets, the music veteran is ranked behind only his longtime friendly rival Jay-Z, who has notched 12 pole position albums throughout his career – the most for any solo act.
Ocean, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky as ‘channel ORANGE’, dipped to #4 on the Billboard 200. The record sold another 54K copies this week for a new total of 185K and previous claims about its previously limited release hindering its sales were effectively disproven.
