Bruno Mars is is serious about making a mark with his new album. In fact, he is so determined to launch the project with bang that he has already revealed the title, release date, list of producers and songwriters, and the names of several of the included songs to Billboard!
On December 11th, Mars will issue his second studio album, ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’, in the US. Preceded by the lead single, ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ (due for release on October 1st), the LP will entail contributions from a range of leading songwriters and producers, such as Mark Ronson, Jeff Bhasker, Emile Haynie, Diplo, Supa Dups and Mars’ own Smeezingtons crew.
“This is me going into the studio and recording and writing whatever I want,” Mars boasted while discussing the direction of ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’. “This album represents my freedom. I’ve had big record label presidents look me in the face and say, ‘Your music sucks, you don’t know who you are, your music is all over the place, and we don’t know how to market this stuff. Pick a lane and come back to us.’ That was disgusting to me, because I’m not trying to be a circus act.”
