Did you know that Jennifer Lopez released her debut album when she was 29 years of age?
Lopez was born on July 24th 1969 and her debut album, ‘On the 6′, was released on June 1st 1999, just weeks short of her 30th birthday. However, that record wasn’t the entertainer’s first introduction to the public.
Several years prior to her musical debut, Lopez worked as a Fly Girl on ‘In Living Color’ and as backup dancer Janet Jackson. Additionally, she played the played the lead role in the critically acclaimed biographical film ‘Selena’, which was based on the life of slain singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez.
Thus far, ‘On the 6′ has been certified 3x platinum by the RIAA. The LP generated the Billboard Hot 100 #1 single, ‘If You Had My Love’, the video for which you can watch below:
