Did you know that James Brown never scored a chart-topping song on the Billboard Hot 100?
Of Brown’s 91 Hot 100 hits, none of them climbed to the #1 slot. In fact, the legendary entertainer, who influenced such performers as Michael Jackson, Prince, Usher and Chris Brown, still holds the record among solo artists for the most entries on the chart without ever reaching the summit. Brown’s highest-ranking single on the Hot 100 was ‘I Got You (I Feel Good)’, which peaked at #3 in 1965.
