New Song: Leona Lewis – ‘Glassheart’

Leona Lewis promised that her upcoming ‘Glassheart’ album would represent a different direction in her career and the new song that she released just moments ago proves that she is serious. Indeed, the young diva made an appearance on UK radio earlier this afternoon to premiere her album’s title track and she sounds barely recognisable!

Earlier this week, Lewis unveiled the track list of the ‘Glassheart’ deluxe edition. Shockingly, the record’s namesake tune was co-written by her longtime collaborator ~~and the usually repetitive~~ Ryan Tedder. Listen to the song below:

Leona Lewis, where have you been all my life with this song?! ‘Glassheart’ is phenomenal from the vocals to the arrangement and the production. Really, after all these years of helping Snorlax from Pokemon fall asleep with lullabies and nursery rhymes, it is a delight to see your finally breaking free of your shell.   It is definitely a hot track, great verses and chorus is stunning. However, I feel as though the original seemed to flow more (when she performed it) and the end chorus definitely should build up more. Feels like backing vocals are put in place of the main vocals, meaning all the emotion is being dynamically held back.
  
  Acoustic version of this song warrants a deluxe purchase in itself.
