Nicki Minaj has tried almost everything under the sun to move units of her ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ album but everything has failed. So, instead of resorting to giving away free wigs with copies of the record and kids’ meals at your local KFC, the rapper has announced plans to issue a rerelease the set in November as ‘The Re-Up’.
Speaking to ‘E! News’ prior to her performance with Alicia Keys at the 2012 MTV VMA, Minaj confirmed that ‘The Re-Up’ will be released in November. Additionally, she noted that there will be several new songs included on the set and that the lead single will hit the airwaves as early as next week.
Thus far, the original ‘Roman Reloaded’ album has only sold 647K copies in the US. Only one of the singles from the LP has cracked the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 – ‘Starships’, which peaked at #5. Hey, at least Minaj won an MTV VMA for Best Female Video for the track’s accompanying clip.
