As we bolt down our good furniture for the explosive over-singing that will likely define Christina Aguilera’s ‘Lotus’ album, her extreme opposite has also revealed plans for new music. Rihanna has announced the official release date of her new single, ‘Diamonds’, which will arrive on radio in the coming days.
During an interview with iHeartRadio last evening, Rihanna revealed that ‘Diamonds’ will premiere via ‘Elvis Duran & the Morning Show’ on September 26th at 8am ET. The Bajan woman, who happily boasted about her inability to be anything less than #1 on the charts, hinted that the song will be a mid-tempo tune that is quite different from her monster hit ‘We Found Love’.
So, what does Rihanna have in store with her new album, reportedly due in late November? Well, according to her, the record will entail good music; material that she always strives to create every time she enters the studio with her auto-tune and cigarettes.

Rihanna is the dominant Pop artist on the music scene today so can wipe her backside with a blank disc – as she did with ‘Talk That Talk’ – and it will be a top 40 hit. Yet, the time has definitely come for her to strive for artistic growth because riding the wave of trendy hits will only get her so far before she burns out.
Do you remember how Madonna’s career took a major downturn in the 1990s because she simply jumping from trend to to trend? Hopefully, Rihanna will take note of that and aim to achieve her version of the artistic genius that was Madonna’s ‘Ray of Light’ album.
