Roc Nation promoted Rita Ora’s ‘ORA’ album so vigorously that it was basically impossible for her to fail. As such, it was no surprise that the record debuted atop the UK Albums Chart today, thus capping off an already impressive year for the young singer.
‘ORA’ claimed the #1 position on the UK Albums Chart as the week’s top-selling release. The record features Ora’s three Official UK Singles Chart #1 singles, ‘R.I.P. (Ft. Tinie Tempah)’, ‘How We Do (Party)’ and ‘Hot Right Now (with DJ Fresh)’.
Impressively, ‘ORA’ managed to outperform Emeli Sande’s ‘Our Version of Events’ album, which nabbed the title of the highest-selling album of 2012 in the UK with 667K copies. That’s right folks, ‘Our Version of Events’ has outsold Adele’s ’21′, based on sales from January 1st 2012 to September 1st.
Ora previously announced to In:Demand that her next ‘ORA’ single will be ‘Shine Ya Light’. Will she score another #1 single on the Official UK Singles Chart? We’ll have to wait for the results but until then, watch her ‘Hot Right Now’ video below:
