Guess who’s back in the top 10 of the Billboard 200? That’s right, Adele has rebounded on the US charts with ’21′ and surpassed Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ in the history books among albums with the most weeks in the upper region of the Billboard 200.
Adele’s ’21′ sold another 23K copies in the US this week for a new sales peak of 9.76 million units sold. Barely notching a position of the top 10 of the Billboard 200 at #10, the LP has outperformed Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and Def Leppard’s ’Hysteria’ in third place among albums with the most weeks in that region of the chart.
Thus far, ’21′ has scored 79 weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 – 78 of those weeks were achieved consecutively. The record is now ranked behind only Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ (84 weeks) and ‘The Sound of Music’ soundtrack (109 weeks) on the list of albums with the most weeks in the top 10.
