Pregnancy isn’t going to stop Adele from continuing her reign as the ruler of the charts. In fact, she has prepared the new theme song for the upcoming ‘James Bond 007: Skyfall’ blockbuster movie, and we have both the official single cover and release date of the future hit!
Co-written and produced by Paul Epworth with a 77-piece orchestra, Adele will premiere ‘Skyfall’ globally via her official website on October 5th at 12:07am BST/London time (7:07pm ET on October 4th). The track will be available to purchase via iTunes immediately after its debut to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the ‘Bond’ film franchise, which will be celebrated as Global James Bond Day.
“I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for ‘Skyfall’”, stated Adele. ‘There’s a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song but I fell in love with the script, and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end.”
“It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief,” Adele continued, “something I’ve never done which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I’ll be back combing my hair when I’m 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I’m sure!”
The ‘Skyfall’ will be released on October 26th in the UK and November 9th 2012 in the US. What is my personal favourite Bond tune to date? Madonna’s ‘Die Another Day’ has that title and you can watch the video for that song below:
