For the most part she didn’t sound that bad but I get Trent’s point. First of all, I’ve always seen Alicia as a musician, so as a musician that she is it amazes me that she doesn’t try to correct or rearrange some some of the notes and keys in her own songs.
She started right but eventually went downhill by trying too hard. I wish her well, she’s a gifted musician though and I hope she visits SOON her vocal coach

Even if her people are allowing this for their monetary selfish gain she can hear herself. No amount of bass is going to over shadow that now defunct voice. \_ \_ please A. Keys.

Trent please post the performance from Itunes Festival, Skavlan and the Manchester Concert, she sounds perfect on them. This and the VMA’s one were not good but after these 2 she’s been fine.

She is truly a horrifically bad singer. When people cite her as their favorite singer/artist/celebrity I immediately seat them in my mind.

… i think she needs to change the key of this song or something because it sounds a rough in upper register right now. i also feel like she sounds clumsy throughout the song, even in some of the lower keys.

Maybe the promo trail is taking its toll on her.

You could not tell at first that Alicia Keys sounded that horrible
until she tried to hit those high notes. It would have been

I really want her to win but she apparently doesn’t want it for herself. She needs a vocal coach, it’s way past a suggestion, it’s a plea. She would get more respect if she admitted to herself that she needs vocal lessons and takes the initiative to get them.

Dawg, you guys are overreacting. This performance was NOT as bad as you say it is. Maybe her voice cracked a bit at 1:18, but this performance was fine. I don’t understand why people come on blogs like this & complain & judge artists. Somewhere there are people that enjoy Alicia Keys’ music/performances & those are the people who she’s here for. It’s people like you guys that make it hard for entertainers/artists/creators today because you don’t mind your business. If you don’t like what an artist does, then leave them be. Alicia Keys wasn’t put on this earth to please everybody.

I think what shocks me most is the fact that she’s a musician, yet seems to not know how to make a song in a comfortable/natural range for her voice. She’s in dire need of a vocal coach.
