2012 American Music Awards: Nominations

The list of the nominations for the 2012 American Music Awards have been announced and as usual, Pop stars dominated have dominated the competition. Announced earlier today at a special press conference in Los Angeles, the nominees include Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, who nabbed four nods each.

The American Music Awards will be hosted at the Nokia Theater on November 18th and aire live via ABC. Minaj and Rihanna will face off in the Favourite Female Artist – Pop/Rock category, while the latter will compete against Justin Bieber, Drake, Maroon 5 and Katy Perry in the Artist of the Year race.

  @jessica I’ve been asking myself that for years but I guess the color of her skin automatically makes her “r&b/soul” even though she doesn’t have a soulful bone in her body but whatever .. I LOVE me some beyonce but why the hell is she nominated?? The could of gave that to brandy at least but again whatever .. The amas is kind of a joke when it comes to awards they bascially just nominate people to either get them to attend or to perform, which honestly is the only reason people watch. When they announce whose actually performing that will be the interesting news ..
