Did you know that in addition to being a rapper, Queen Latifah is an accomplished Jazz singer?
As her Hip-Hop career lost steam in the mid-2000s, Latifah ventured into field of Jazz music and even achieved moderate success. Her first release, ‘The Dana Owens Album’, was released in 2004 and quickly reached gold status in the US.
‘Dana Owens’ included several covers of popular Jazz classic, such as ‘Moody’s Mood for Love’, ‘Mercy Mercy Mercy’ and ‘I Put a Spell on You’. Listen to Latifah sing the last of those tunes below:
