When Mariah Carey released her ‘Merry Christmas II You’ album in 2010, Christina Aguilera reportedly purchased herself a copy and now we know why. The diva has joined forces with Cee Lo Green on his new song, ‘Baby it’s Cold Outside’, and the influence of her idol shines through in this snippet of her vocal performance.

‘Baby it’s Cold Outside’ is just one of fourteen songs featured on the track list of the ‘Cee Lo’s Magic Moment’ Holiday album, which will be released on October 30th. Other acts expected to appear on the set include The Muppets and Rod Stewart.

  Her voice sounds so good! It’s giving me Burlesque “I Am A Good Girl” teas! It doesn’t even sound like Cee Lo, he sounds like John Legend. Their voices mashes together so well. I love her falsetto notes! Flawless!! She needs to take that growl out of her voice and do more beautiful falsetto like this!

  THIS is why I love christinas voice! I actually always preferred it to mariahs just because I feel like it has a weight that mimi lacks.. Christinas voice is made for SOUL music! If only she had the control live that mariah has (or had *coughs*) then she would considered be up there with the best. This little snippet truely shows the potential christina has and actually makes me that more xcited for her new album!

  Inspired by Mariah? Xtina’s voice has always been bluesy and soulful and Back to Basics (which highlights this) came out long before Try-hard-Riah’s second Xmas album. Stop trying to force Mariah’s influene – the bitch didn’t invent falsetto. Or Christmas.

  She should forever sing on this range. No screaming, not strained notes. Her voice truly shines when she doesn’t oversing at all. I heard a longer snippet and sounded really good, both actually.

  Anyone who knows anything about vocals can see a huge Mariah inspiration in this song, Christina sounds great, I just really cant get passed her personality (bitchy and over confident) to enjoy her music..
