Faith Evans will release her ‘R&B Divas’ album tomorrow (October 2nd) and among the songs featured on the set’s track list is a new collaboration with Fantasia and Kelly Price. However, this isn’t a completely new record. Rather, it’s a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s ‘True Colors’.
A preview of the entire ‘R&B Divas’ album was released last month. If you haven’t heard it yet then click here, and then return to listen to Evans, Fantasia and Price’s full version of ‘True Colors’ below:
The standout facet of this ‘True Colors’ cover is the tightness of the harmonies. Yet, that isn’t surprising because almost every song in which Price is involved has near flawless vocal synchronisation. Add that to the piano-bolstered production and restraint that Fantasia thankfully demonstrated, and this record is a clear winner.
