New Video: Alicia Keys – ‘Girl On Fire’

Alicia Keys beams in her new ‘Girl on Fire’ video

Alicia Keys’ ‘Girl on Fire’ is as hot has proven to be a slow burner on the Billboard Hot 100 so she has rushed out a new video to support the song. Filmed in what appears to be someone’s dusty attic, the clip is the first offering from the diva’s project of the same name.

Thus far, ‘Girl on Fire’ has peaked at #37 on the Hot 100. Keys will release her album on November 27th and judging by this song as well as the video, it will likely be one of the weakest of her career. Watch the ‘Girl on Fire’ clip below:

So, Keys basically went to the set of Mariah Carey’s ‘Vision of Love’ with an elderly woman and a little girl, who was probably minding her business while doing something far more productive like playing jumprope on the corner, for this ‘Girl on Fire’ video. Did she shave off part of her brain when she cut her hair? Honestly, that is the only explanation for her thinking that this product was anywhere near acceptable.

  I don’t like the video but peaking at #37 is a great feat for a comeback R&B song. Alicia Keys’ fans don’t let her fall and that is great (best stans in R&B). She’s gonna do numbers when that album comes out.

  What is the concept to this… Her sales will be great though. The song is good, and is doing great on urban/rhythmic, and it is also being picked up at pop. The video is puzzling. Since when did a video sale an album. People put way too much stalk into videos.

  LOL the beginning is so awkward and you’re right the window thing is a copy of Vision of love. Also the whole concept, the magic effect and so, is so early 90′s it looks like a Shade, Björk or No doubt’s video randomness

  Alicia has never looked this great and sexy. I love her new haircut and how she is trying to dance and give something else in her performances. This particular song is weak, we know it. But I really like New Day. I still think the album could be really good. First week numbers are probably going to be smaller than her previous ones… but just like everybody else´s are being. In fact she´ll probably do better than most again

  I get the concept of the video and where she went with it however I think it should have been done with more life like senerios. For me the song is awesome and had she matched an awesome video to it….it would have rocked!!!! But I still love her but she needs to make wiser choices
