All of Brandy’s hard work is about to result in a minor victory for the singer. Indeed, early sales predictions indicate that her new album, ‘Two Eleven’, will debut within the top 5 of the Billboard 200 next week. Yet, how do those figures compare to those of ‘Human’?
‘Two Eleven’ is projected to sell between 65K and 70K copies within the next week, thus securing a position in the top 5 of the Billboard 200. Although these opening numbers fall just short of the 73K that Brandy’s previous album, ‘Human’, sold when it first cracked the charts in 2008, this new top 10 entry will be her first since ‘Afrodisiac’ started at #3 in 2004.
‘Human’ peaked at #15 on the Billboard 200. To date it has sold less than 220K copies in the US and its best-performing single, ‘Right Here (Departed)’, failed to climb higher than #34 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #22 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
On the other hand, the lead single from ‘Two Eleven’, ‘Put it Down (Ft. Chris Brown)’, has thus far climbed to #70 on the Hot 100 and #3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs tally. Unfortunately, recent Billboard rule changes will likely prevent the song from peaking higher on the latter lineup.
Brandy is expected to appear on ‘Good Morning America’ (October 18th), ‘Watch What Happens’ (October 18th), ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ (October 19th), ‘LIVE! With Kelly & Michael’ (October 19th) and ‘Piers Morgan Tonight’ (October 19th)’ later this week. Watch the video for ‘Put it Down’ below:
