No matter how much an artist promotes an album, if the material is weak and it lacks clear direction then it simply won’t sell. This will likely be the case with Ne-Yo’s lackluster ‘R.E.D.’ and sales predictions indicate that it will garner the lowest opening figures of his career to date.
‘R.E.D.’ is on track to sell 50K-60K copies in the US during its first week. Although the record will secure a slot in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, it will move the lowest opening numbers of Ne-Yo’s career. In fact, this sum represents roughly half of the 112K copies that the singer-songwriter’s lowest-selling album, ‘Libra Scale’, sold upon its debut in 2010.
Luckily for Ne-Yo, the lead ‘R.E.D.’ Pop single, ‘Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)’, is continuing to gain momentum on radio and is currently ranked in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Watch the video for that song below:
