The first song to rule the Hot 100 for fourteen weeks was Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’, which commenced its reign on the chart during the week of November 28th 1992. Since that time, Boyz II Men’s ‘I’ll Make Love to You’ (1994), Mariah Carey’s ‘One Sweet Day (with Boyz II Men)’ (1995), Los Del Rio’s ‘Macarena’ (1996), Elton John’s ‘Candle in the Wind’/’Something About the Way You Look Tonight’ (1997), Carey’s ‘We Belong Together’ (2005) and the Black Eyed Peas’ ‘I Gotta Feeling’ (2009) have each scored at least fourteen weeks at the top.
