Did you know that Celine Dion was a successful artist in Canada long before she launched her career in the US?
Dion’s first English language album was her 1990 offering, ‘Unison’. However, the Quebec-born diva had long since made her debut in French Canada and released several records in that region, starting with her ‘La Voix du bon Dieu’ set in 1981.
As a result her ability to speak both French and English, Dion has enjoyed remarkable success across the globe and has sold north of a reported 200 million records to date as one of the highest-selling female artists of all time, alongside Mariah Carey and Madonna. Additionally, two of her albums have been certified diamond in the US and four of her songs have topped the Billboard Hot 100.
