Kelly Rowland doesn’t know her own potential so she settles for songs that are far below her true standard of talent. Need an example of this mediocrity? Look no further than a new song by the ghost of album sales past called “Number One”(ironic title, isn’t it?).
“Number One” was issued via producer Mike WiLL Made-It’s Est. in 1989 Pt. 2.5 mixtape. The song will also reportedly appear on Rowland’s Year of the Woman album, which she has scheduled for release in early 2013. Listen to the track below:
“Number One” is a nice song but haven’t we heard similar tunes from Rowland at least twenty times before? Perhaps artistic growth isn’t on her agenda and we will just have to learn how to deal with basic music. On the other hand, maybe the talent that we imagine to be buried deep beneath Rowland’s Diana Ross wig is just a figment of our imagination like her RIAA certifications.
