Right now, somewhere over the rainbow, a certain Destiny’s Child lead singer is awfully green with envy because Adele has achieved yet another feat beyond her reach. Continuing to extend her domination across the entertainment industry, the British songstress has nabbed an Oscar nomination for “Skyfall”.
Adele co-wrote and performed “Skyfall” as the official theme song of James Bond 007: Skyfall. In addition to scoring a nod for Best Original Song at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards, the track has now landed a slot in the same category at the 2013 Academy Awards. The results of the latter show will be announced on February 24th.
To date, “Skyfall” has peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Official UK Singles Chart, all without any promotion by Adele. Listen to the song below:
