As her fans continue to pray that a miracle would rescue her from the edge of oblivion, Alexandra Burke made a different plea today at London’s O2 Arena. The unfortunately dressed songbird belted a rendition of “God Save the Queen” to kickoff the New York Knicks vs the Detroit Pistons NBA matchup.
Burke was only backed by a piano as she sang “God Save the Queen” in a manner reminiscent of the divas who inspired her (Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey). However, she kept the octave-warbling in check and drove the message of the moment home with the necessary restraint.
